I added the water dripping because it added atmosphere. The creature has no eyes because things that don't have eyes scare me--they can find you some other way. Late Nwagz

It was the horns in Hellboy one that really just stuck in my mind. So, that was the beginning of the painting it took about six hours. The majority of the work was done in painter.

This image is dedicated to my wife Jamie. With out her none of this would be possible. I really wanted to make this stylized. I started to change the lighting. The angle is a bit off, but every time I changed it, I did not like the picture. Done in photoshop and I don't know how long it took me because it is an old painting that I just decided to finish.
A Woman Scorned

I painted this for the Gnomon workshop forum contest. The contest was for a sea creature. So, I thought of a story about a pirate who pretends to love a sea goddess in order to steal her chest filled with, I let the viewer decide. I painted this in painter and photoshop. It was the first time I painted the ocean.

I just reworked this because I am understanding fogging the background in order to create depth more. It is a very simple things to understand, but that is the issue. My brush strokes also went with the fury of the picture. Late Nwagz

Shaman

I have been working on this for a while because I have been practicing anatomy, color theory, and form. The concept came from wanting to paint a wolf, then a story formed. I thought of Native American, a bounty hunter or Shaman, who lived in a post apocalyptic. Whether this America is on Earth I could not say, but as I painted it I imagined a hybrid of tribal weapons and future guns. He is wearing a suit that warms his body as he breaths through it almost like the Dune Stillsuit, but the opposite, it warms ones body instead of cooling it. His eyes glow because of the blood he drinks from the great wolf which he worships. The rest of the story is up to you the viewer. Tell me what you think or even a story that comes to mind.

This character began from a contest that I did for dead silence. I got the face from stock images of the movie, your can see the contest image on deviant art it is under the dead silence thread under nwagz. I loved what I did with the image that I decided to make it mine and I added as much detail as I could. I had this idea of a woman who would entice men and woman with the sweet smells of her roses and then well I leave that to your imagination. She is almost like one of the Sirens, but instead of using auditory senses she uses the pleasure of ones smell. Please tell me what you think of the detail and the idea. I would also like to know what emotions this piece evoked. Thank you I would love comments I am a very new artist and criticism is one of the best ways to learn. Thank you.
